AI corporations may be subject to surveillance and eventual co-option by the state as a result. Meanwhile, the public may react harshly to automation and economic disempowerment, placing additional pressure on governments to co-opt the AI industry and creating new hazards for AI developers in the form of rudimentary attempts at backdooring and data poisoning.
