I have always believed that life is meant to be painful and agonising. And I have quite enjoyed my painful and agonising time here.
I live in Ulaanbaatar Mongolia - by alexander gradus“For a man made them, and one whose spirit is borrowed formed them; for no man can form a god which is like himself. He is mortal, and what he makes with lawless hands is dead, for he is better than the objects he worships since he has life, but they never have”
Antiqua et nova. Note on the Relationship Between Artificial Intelligence and Human Intelligence (28 January 2025)More and more, art objects insist stridently that they are not just art, but also a meaningful arena for political struggle at the level of representation; instruments for instilling virtues.
A Business Doing Pleasure With You: On Becca Rothfeld's "All Things Are Too Small" — Cleveland Review of Books“You know how I’m a low-empathy person?”
Raising a person in a culture full of types | The OutlinePeople say he deserted because he’s a coward, but really he’s a coward because he deserted. He could have hung around and been scared in his uniform with his squadmates, but he chose to run. We can identify an essential cowardice within this choice, but it only emerges after the choice is made, as an epiphenomenon.
Raising a person in a culture full of types | The Outlinebecause you are always prone to think about what you *should* want just as much as what you *do* genuinely want.
failing up - by Crystal Duan - Shiz with Cryshave made my decisions, and my commitments, to what is genuinely important to me, and I don’t feel ironic about it at all.
failing up - by Crystal Duan - Shiz with CrysThe best thing I've ever done was move to San Francisco completely alone when I was 20. It was a little scary, lonely, and nerve-wracking at first, but it was one of the periods in my life where I experienced the most immense personal growth.

Zans Brady Krohn | Will DanIt proposes that a basic psychological conflict results from having a self-preservation instinct while realizing that death is inevitable and to some extent unpredictable. This conflict produces terror, which is managed through a combination of escapism and cultural beliefs that act to counter biological reality with more significant and enduring forms of meaning and value—-basically countering the personal insignificance represented by death with the significance provided by symbolic culture.[1][2]
Terror management theory - WikipediaYou are like me, whether or not you admit it. Unsatisfied, meticulous. And your hunger is not for experience but for understanding, as though it could be had in the abstract. Then it’s daylight and the world goes back to normal.

AI girlfriends? What about AI boyfriends?f course the issue is that keeping your fears to yourself doesn’t actually prevent you from thinking about them; if anything it just allows them to fester. and on the other hand i don’t really know why this is the case but for some reason i’ve found telling other people to be one of the few good ways of letting things go and freeing my mind.

That sounds extreme, but trust me, avoidant people pleasers wind up in all kinds of fucked up situations, thanks to their inability to open their mouths and tell the truth. People who dislike their mothers have MOTHERS MOVING ACROSS THE COUNTRY TO LIVE NEXT DOOR TO THEM, and soon they aren’t talking to their mothers anymore.
