Death of Typography
We are a young Singaporean type collective—practicing, researching and exploring type through creative inquiry and collaboration. Contributed by designers across Asia, this exhibition explores the intersection of identity, languages, and social-cultural themes through typography. The designers were challenged to consider their mastery and understanding- or lack thereof – of various language systems have impacted their identity and place in the world. From 26 Sept to 6 Oct 2024, Typography as Muse, was co-curated by us and organised by Morisawa, a Japanese font foundry. We featured local type designers in a panel discussion on type design, in collaboration with Singapore Product Design. Earlier this year, we created an experimental type programme to teach diploma students at LASALLE College Of The Arts.
